It was a close run competition with the Sultans of Swing narrowly beating the Back Nine bandits by 4 ½ points to 3 ½.

Team captain Shane Pirie of the Back Nine Bandits let his team down on the last two holes after being 2 holes up with 2 to play ended up drawing his game with Dave Ramage only thing to blame here would have been nerves.

Our very own CEO Peter Bruce staged a remarkable come back from being 3 down after 3 holes played too narrowly being defeated on the last by young pretender Gavin Bruce.

Alan Proctor Vice-Captain of the Sultans participated fantastically by playing three rounds at Hazlehead and Garmouth. There was controversy on the first hole at Garmouth and Kingston where we had to involve the referee after some dodgy counting by one competitor who was duly shown a yellow card.

Both courses at the Pines Hazlehead and Garmouth & Kingston played really well and these rounds were donated by Golf Aberdeen and Garmouth & Kingston.

Celebrations on Saturday for Team Sultans of Swing were hardcore consisting of a cup of tea and skittles!!

Huge credit goes to our participants who not only had the testing Aberdeenshire weather but following strict government guidelines. Well done and huge thank you to Peter Bruce, Colin Henry, Gavin Bruce, Alan Proctor, Euan Rennie, Darren Munro, Shane Pirie, Mark Bannerman, Danny Mathieson, Dave Ramage and Doreen Gerrie
