A Sweet Prize – Orry’s’ Two-Day Tour with Valrhona

As part of his prize for winning National Chef of the Year, our Executive Chef Orry Shand embarked on an unforgettable two-day culinary tour with Valrhona in Tain-l'Hermitage, France!
From witnessing chocolate being made from scratch at Valrhona's one and only chocolate factory to exploring their world-class pastry school, Orry got a firsthand look at how Valrhona produces its renowned chocolates – from the initial cocoa bean processing to the creation of their signature bars, truffles, pralines and so much more!

The trip also included a visit to La Cité du Chocolat - Valrhona's interactive chocolate museum, along with a wine tasting, and getting out and about exploring Tain-l'Hermitage with stops at the local pastry shops.

An incredible experience for Orry. He got to fully explore the world of Valrhona, from the origins of cacoa beans to the craftmanship behind the world-class confectionary, deepening his appreciation and understanding for a product he frequently uses in private dinners.
