Fresh Olive Apprenticeship Graduates- Kai & Ope

We would like to congratulate Kai Mackie and Opeyemi Kolawole upon completing their Fresh Olive apprenticeship. We spoke to both Kai and Ope to get an overview of how they found their time as a Fresh Olive, their favourite moments, and the skills they gained.

Kai said: "Looking back over the last three years, I cant believe all the opportunities I've been able to experience, the skills I've learned and the friendships I've made. I entered my apprenticeship as a shy teenager and thanks to the Fresh Olive scheme I have found my voice in the kitchen, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and how to effectively communicate in a successful team.
For anyone interested in becoming a Fresh Olive Chef, be open minded to new experiences and grab the opportunity with both hands. Not only does the apprenticeship give you invaluable opportunities, it gives you the chance to earn while you learn with real work experience. Something that I didn't get in college.
I've made so many memories and gained so much experience, thank you to everyone that helped me along the way. The experiences will be with me for a lifetime."
Ope said: “Since the start of my apprenticeship to now, I've seen so much progression in myself. From my ability to confidence, I feel as if the Fresh Olive Programme has helped me progress leaps and bounds, becoming a valued member of a workforce. It was so worthwhile and interesting the whole time and I can't believe how fast it has gone.
I've gained so many skills as a Fresh Olive, such as effective communication, analytical skills, organisational skills, and resilience. Now that I have completed my apprenticeship, I have moved into the role of Trainee Management Accountant where I can use the knowledge I have gained in my apprenticeship. I'm so excited to continue progressing with my career at Entier and I look forward to challenging myself to get better.
My favourite memory of being a Fresh Olive was when we got to see the diving chambers on a visit to a client vessel, it was great to see a different side of the business and really opened my eyes to the scale at which Entier operates."
