Kieran Kerr has been announced as a finalist for this year’s SVQF Level 5 Apprentice of the Year at the Scottish Apprenticeship Awards
Kieran joined us in Comrie as our first Fresh Olive from the Perth and Kinross region. He came to us from Perth High School, our Partner DYW school in the region, where he was studying part time at Perth College.
At 18 years old, Perth born Kieran Kerr recently won both ‘Aspiring Young Chef 2018’ and ‘Perth College Apprentice of the year’.
Since joining the company Kieran has had the opportunity to work in various different working environments servicing events from small dinner parties to large 700 guest functions at the national museums in Edinburgh, as well as being coached and mentored by the highest calibre Chefs.
Kieran has grown in both ability and confidence since his training programme began and has had fantastic insight into the importance of quality produce and the workings of supply chain. Kieran has had the opportunity to visit the Peterhead fish market where he got to witness the live auction, he also had a visit to our butcher McWilliams in Aberdeen, where he got a tour with the master butcher.
We wish Kieran all the best on the night.
