Entier’s anchor, number 20 The Parting Song by Artist Lindsay Allardyce returned to Aberdeen from the Main Esplanade, Lerwick, Shetland where it has been on display since July. It was visited by many people including Peter and Fiona Bruce on the 1st September.
The anchors are all now getting ready for their final display at the auction, which is being held at the Chester Hotel on Thursday 23 November. Let’s hope this conclusion to what has been a wonderful voyage is an amazing and successful event.
Over the campaign period, collectively there were over 40 volunteers, covering over 70 shifts mounting to an incredible 284 volunteer hours gifted. During the Homecoming Voyage we welcomed approximately 6,000 visitors over the 13 days to see all 20 anchors displayed in the spectacular setting.
Over the period, the charity received an amazing £5,156 in donations and an equally impressive £1,683 in merchandise (we sold 53 tote bags, 110 colouring books, 45 t-shirts, 192 bracelets and a whopping 409 badges!)
Thanks to all of you that helped raise money and awareness of our special Anchor sending in photos which we published on our website and Facebook.
As we have already purchased our Anchor, we look forward to having it on display at our office in Westhill after the auction.
